Choosing a pediatrician for your child is an important decision. It is crucial that your pediatrician’s philosophy on health and wellness aligns closely with that of your family. If you have not done so already, please review our mission and values and the details below to make sure that we are the best fit for you and your family.

Vaccines

We are a vaccinating practice.

Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing serious diseases and long-term health complications. Adventure Pediatrics requires all patients to follow the current immunization schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Families with vaccine concerns are encouraged to discuss questions directly with the doctor. However, if your family ultimately decides not to vaccinate, we will ask you to establish care with another pediatric office that better aligns with your beliefs.

We accept most major insurances and Mississippi Medicaid plans. We have also listed the plans that are still in process, and we will update this page when we can begin accepting patients covered by these plans.

Please note that our practice and providers may not be in-network with all plans under your insurance company. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure that our practice is an in-network provider with your coverage plan.

Technology

We pride ourselves on efficiency through use of technology.

We use technology to keep your experience efficient and simple—minimizing paperwork and phone calls so we can focus on caring for your child. We ask that you consult our website for valuable information and utilize our patient portal to communicate with our office. Together, we can stay connected and keep your child’s care running smoothly.

Using the portal, you will be able to request and schedule* appointments, view/print shot records, request/view/print other documentation (such as sports forms, school excuses, etc), look up historical data (such as lab work and growth charts), and review visit summaries for all past appointments. Portal messages will be monitored continuously during regular business hours and checked at regular intervals after hours.

Mutual Respect for Time

We strive to stay on schedule.

We know your time is valuable, and we make every effort to stay on schedule and provide timely care. Occasionally, emergencies may delay scheduled visits. We appreciate your understanding when this occurs.

To help reduce wait times, we ask that families follow these expectations:

Arrive 10 minutes early with all previsit surveys and paperwork completed.
Patients arriving late by 10 minutes or more may need to reschedule.
If you want additional children seen at the same visit, please notify the office in advance.
If you are running late, please call. We may be able to accommodate you later that same day, depending on the day’s schedule.

We require a 24-hour notice for cancellations. Repeated same-day cancellations or missed appointments may result in dismissal from the practice as outlined in our financial policy.

Are You Expecting?

Congratulations on your new baby! We know this can be a very busy time for new parents as the family adjusts to having a new infant in the home.

Upon Delivery

When your baby is born, simply tell your obstetrician and the hospital staff that you have chosen Adventure Pediatrics as your child’s pediatrician. Once you have been cleared for discharge, please contact our office about scheduling your baby’s first visit to our office.

Typical newborn visits happen by 3-5 days of age, but occasionally may need to be scheduled sooner because of complications that happened during or after delivery. We reserve space in our schedule for newborn visits each day, so be sure to let us know if you need an earlier-than-expected appointment.

Insurance

We realize that it may take some time for newborns to be added to an insurance policy. However, it is very important that you provide the insurance company with the information that they request in a timely manner. Failure to do so may result in delays of coverage and greater financial costs to you.

Adventure Pediatrics is welcoming new patients. Interested families should:

Review our practice policies.
Download the Spruce App using this link (not directly from the Apple or Google app store), and send us a secure text with your children’s names/DOB. We will create your chart and patient portal account, using the contact information you provide.
If your child has medical records with a different physician, print and complete this form to request that copies be sent to Adventure Pediatrics, or sign a release form at your current pediatrician’s office.
Check with your insurance to confirm we are currently in-network before making your request. As per our financial policy, it will be your responsibility to confirm your network status with Adventure Pediatrics before your appointment.
