Caring for children is our specialty.

Pediatricians receive special training in the health and illnesses of infants, children, teens, and young adults. Whether it’s a routine well child visit, a same-day care for a sick child, or navigating a developmental milestone, we are here to offer the knowledge, support, and reassurance you need to move forward with confidence.

Well Child Exams

Well child exams (or check-ups) are a vital part of a child’s health care. Regular wellness visits allow us to detect and address health problems before they become serious, or in some cases prevent them entirely! These visits allow us to examine the child for overall health, growth, and development. We also discuss nutrition, sleep habits, behavior, and age-appropriate topics such as potty training, dental care, and safety issues.

At well child exams, we provide scheduled immunizations, screening tests (hearing, vision, hemoglobin, etc.), and an opportunity for parents to ask questions. The frequency of well child visits is based on this schedule recommended by the AAP.

Same-Day Sick Visits

Kids get sick. It happens fast, and often without warning. That’s why we set aside time each day for same-day sick visits. If your child isn’t feeling well, message us through the portal or Spruce app, or call our office; we’ll do our best to see you that day. Same-day sick appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, though we will make every effort to work in an urgent visit if the schedule is full.

Chronic Condition Management

Some chronic health conditions (such as asthma or allergies) and mental health conditions (such as ADHD, depression, and anxiety) require regular follow-ups and medication checks with your pediatrician at least every 3-6 months based on a child’s individual situation.

Adolescent Care

Adolescence is an important transition from childhood to adulthood. During these years, patients will be offered and encouraged to have a portion of the visit alone with their provider. We try to pay special attention to the personal needs, confidentiality and privacy of our adolescent patients. We will also set up your teen with their own patient portal account, so that they can begin learning how to navigate their own health needs.

During these visits, we will discuss issues such as alcohol, smoking, substance use, and sexual health . Patients may schedule appointments through high school.
